China Glaze Eye Candy

YAY, I finally received my China Glaze polishes that i posted about a few posts below.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE China Glaze polishes but there so hard to find here in the UK so i get the shipped from the US.

Just look at how glittery they are, seriously these pictures do not capture just how glittery they are!

Usually when i get a glitter polish I'm left hugely disappointed because most are really thin and watery and need about 6 coats to get the full effect, but not these babies, I've already worn the purple shade and i only had to apply 2 coats for a rich, thick, solid glitter colour.

I absolutely love these, they all have different shapes of glitter in them, circle, dots, hexagons, strips etc, these are seriously packed to the brim with glitter!

These look amazing as a solid colour on the nails, but i also love them for Nail Art too, they look great just on the tips!

Recent Swap-OCC Lip Tars

So i recently arrange a swap for some OCC Lip Tars by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

I love these, and cant seem to find them in the UK, you can order direct from the OCC website, but at $13 a pop its pretty expensive.

These aren't a new product, they have been all over the Internet for ages now, but its took me this long to get some lol. They come in a wide range of shades, and are made for mixing together to create custom lip colours, great if you are a make up artist.

Now let me start off by saying that these samples do not travel well, i got them shipped from the US, and they came in little 5g screw top jars.

When i received the package and opened it, they had literally leaked all over, i managed to save some, but lost quite a few too.

I managed to do some swatches with what was left in the jars

Most of these are quite natural and can be worn as they are, the lighter ones would look great mixed with some of the darker colours below.

I Love these Lip Tars, and I'm gutted that most of them leaked in transit as i would have loved to have mixed loads of my own custom shades.

I will definitely be looking to get my hands on some full size ones of these in the future.

LUSH Haul

Oh yes, i think i have an addiction to LUSH!!

I went a bit mad and bought half the LUSH shop.

I got all of this in the boxing day sale, you are probably looking thinking 'what the hell' 'why buy all of that' but i do this every year, i go out on boxing day and buy a ton because i DO NOT buy any LUSH throughout the whole year.

I personally wouldn't pay full price for most LUSH items because i think there pretty expensive.

This will last me until next boxing day, maybe even longer, my little boy loves LUSH too, and it makes bath time fun for him!

Hope you all had a good xmas

Just a quick post to say i hope you all had a great Christmas.

It was a very difficult one for all my family this year, as we are still mourning the loss of my beautiful baby boy Kaiden, however we have had to be strong and still celebrate as i also have a 4 year old son.

My little boy got spoilt rotten as usual lol, and he had a great day.
We lit a candle for Kaiden, and went to his grave on Christmas day to lay some flowers and gifts.

I got spoilt this year off my boyfriend and got some lovely gifts one of which is this beauty below
Soap and Glory Big Splendour Gift Set from Boots.

I have to say we did get spoilt off the rest of the members of our family and we got some money to treat ourselves in the sales.

Hope you all had a great day and got everything you wanted.

ELF mint cream with Barry m crackle over the top and a multi glitter top coat.

RIP MY BEAUTIFUL SLEEPING ANGEL

As some of you who read my blog are aware, i was expecting my second child in December.
I actually gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on 13th November 2011, he weighed 4lb 1oz, and was 47cm long.
He was the most beautifulest thing I've ever seen, unfortunately he was stillborn, i went for a scan on the Friday 11th November 2011, and was told the devastating news that my baby's heart had stopped.

None of us were expecting this at all, it is heart wrenching, soul destroying, and life changing.
Never in my life did i ever expect to be arranging the funeral of my own child at the age of 26.

This is all i can write for now as tears are blinding my eyes.

I probably wont be posting any new posts for a while, i hope you understand.

NOTD

Just a quick post to show you what I have on my nails at the moment.

It's by Leighton Denny, in babydoll. I received this in my October Glossybox, which I have to say was a he'll of a lot better than the September one!

I've always been curious about these polishes after seeing them numerous times on QVC, but there a tad expensive, so I'm glad I got this in my Glossybox. Overall I really like it, it has great colour payoff, this is only 2 coats!

My New Makeup Storage

Just a quick post to show you all my new makeup storage.
i finally caved in and bought the ALEX unit from ikea, i thought it was a bit pricey at £81.99, but still went ahead and bought it after seeing numerous YouTube videos.

I got the 9 draw system, it comes with 5 narrow draws and 4 bigger draws, its a really solid sturdy piece of furniture and it holds loads!

Quick pic of the stuff i have on the top.
Pink plastic drawers which currently have my jewellery in them, perfumes, brushes, brush cleaner, mirror etc.

1st draw has all my pigments in, the majority of them are MAC, but theres also some Barry m, Ben Nye and naked pigments in there too.
You can see at the back i have a few products that i haven't opened yet.

2nd draw is my face stuff, like foundations, blushers, bronzers, concealers, primers, highlighters, MAC msfs etc.
i have a grey tray in from ikea too, its a cutlery tray that was 49p, and it works pretty well for me right now, i have one in a few of the draws.
You'll also notice my urban decay Alice in wonderland palette and unopened lash blast mascara in there, again this is just because i didn't have any room in the other draws for them.

3rd draw is all my lip products, the 3 boxes at the front are from the LUSH secret Santa gift sets that i got at Xmas time, they are perfect for my lipsticks, and they fit perfectly in the draw.
Again i have an ikea cutlery tray in this draw too, which holds my regular lip glosses, and squeeze tube lip glosses.

4th draw and probably the most jam packed, is my eye draw, this has all my Mac palettes, which you cant really see in pic as there hiding right at the back, MAC quads, nyx, wet n wild, ELF, false lashes, eyeliners (liquid, pencil and gel) paint pots, mascaras etc, you get the picture lol.

5th draw is all my LUSH goodies, this draw makes my room smell gorgeous all the time!!

6th draw is a bit of a mess, but its all my nail polishes, treatments, nail art etc.

7th draw is all candles, i have bigger jar candles at the back and smaller ones to the front, with tarts and scent shots, they are all Yankee candles and candles by Victoria

.8th draw is all my body lotions, self tan, hair products etc.

Last draw is my pink draw lol, it mainly has all my soap and glory items in, as i got a HUGE box set for Xmas of my boyfriend.
Also has a few bath and body works products and lee Stafford mini hair items.

So what do you guys think??
Overall I'm very happy with it, it enables me to access my makeup much better than before as i had it all bundled into ikea fira wooden boxes, which weren't the best storage but did at the time.

Link me to your makeup storage.

ELF Duo Eyecreams

I received these in my last ELF Haul when they had their 50% off sale, i bought them because I've heard a lot of people say there really good.

I thought id give them a go for eyeshadow bases.

They come in basic black screw top packaging, you get two colours in each pot, i bought the following colours:

*Blueberry
*Butter Pecan
*Sugar Cookie
*Berry mix

Here's swatches, swiped on the back of my hand with no primer

I'm pleasantly surprised by these, i thought they would be super sheer with no pigmentation at all, boy was i wrong!!
I really like these, the colour payoff is great, they glide on, and there super soft. I think if you added these over the top of primer they would pop even more.

I paid 75p each for these, and really cant complain at all, i would pay full price for them too.
Overall ELF has some great products, and i personally think this is one of them!

Swap Package!!

So I'm an active member of makeupalley.com
Its a swap site, which I'm sure you have all heard of, if not go check it out and sign up!

I arranged a swap with a wonderful swapper from Canada.
We set a price, and gave each other a list of things we would like to try, i picked things that i cant get in the UK.

Now i received this a few weeks ago now but have just getting round to posting it, check out all these goodies, i swear i was like a kid at Christmas, this has got to be one of the best swaps I've ever done!!!

Everything was beautifully wrapped, but I've opened them already.

These are the swap items i asked for, she managed to get me everything i asked for so i was super happy.

These are all the extras that she included, how nice is that!!!
The bath and body works set in Paris amour smells absolutely gorgeous, i wish we could get these in the UK.

Let me know what your best swaps have been.

Primark Haul 27/9/2011

So I've been feeling a little bit down lately, I'm 7 and a half months pregnant, and can no longer fit in my size 8's.
So i decided to get off my backside and head to

PRIMARK!!!!!

To buy some bigger clothes to accommodate my ever expanding bump, as the good old elastic band/bobble trick just isn't cutting it anymore.

Here's what i came away with:

Skinny Jeggings in a size 10, they are incredibly soft, and i can wear them over my bump or under my bump, they are super comfortable, and were only £8.00

Gorgeous cream floaty top, with silk style flower detailing around the neck, i love this as it doesn't cling to my bump, and its long enough to wear with leggings, This is a size 8 but because its floaty it has tons of room. This was £8.00

Close up of the neck detailing.

Another floaty top, loving these at the min, this one is slightly longer at the front than the back, its a size 8, again its so soft, ill be teaming this with some skinny jeans, and a plain white boob tube underneath, with a cardigan. This was only £4.00!!

This is just a plain white long sleeve top, nice for the cold weather that's slowly creeping upon us here in good old England, this was £3.50

Sheer floral top, with peter pan style collar, i LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS, ill be wearing a plain black Cami underneath. This is a size 12, its EXTREMELY SMALL FITTING, this was a total bargain at only £7.00.

Just a regular plain floaty vest, creamy beige colour, size 10, with a pocket detail, i think this was only £3.00 if i remember correctly.

Plain black leggings, i got these in a size 12, as i find once there washed they shrink a bit, i love these and there so comfortable. They were £3.00

Gorgeous soft woollen cream scarf, perfect for the winter, and I've also took to hiding my bump behind big over sized scarves lol. This was only £3.00

Dark denim skinny jeans, got these in a size 10 and there so comfortable, they also have a bit stretch to them and have nice gold detailed buttons, they were only £9.00.

Last but not least, i just had to get myself a new pair of flats, and these are gorgeous!! they are super soft and comfortable and will go with just about anything, i wish they had these in different colours because i would buy more, they are seriously the softest shoes i have ever bought, and well worth the £8.00 i paid for them!!

I felt so much better after my shopping trip, it really brightened my mood! Ive also got to say that Primark has some amazing stuff in at the minute, they have some great winter pieces in too!!

What have you bought from Primark lately??

Purple gradient nails NOTD.

So I fancied trying something a bit different with my nails today, and Ive seen this Gradient trend kicking around for a while so thought id give it a go!

I started with a pale shimmery base, and the picked a darker colour to graduate with, as it will really pop against the pale background.

I just used a random cheap polish for the base and I used opi's grape set match for the darker colour.

You want to start of by painting your nails with 2 coats of your pale shimmery polish, once that's dry use a make up sponge (I used ELF's) and dab on the darker colour, make sure you don't cover all the pale colour as you will lose the gradient effect. Do this right up to the free edge.
Once that is dry you can either apply a clear top coat or go for something glittery like I did. (I used OPI's serving up sparkle) and that's it, you should now have sparkly gradient nails!! Simples!!

Hope you like, let me know your fave nail trend of the moment.

September glossy box!

I'm sure you have all heard of glossy box by now, so I'll just dive straight in and let you know what I received in my first ever glossy box.

I signed up for this in July after hearing so many great things about it, they said I would receive my first box in September, and I got mine today.

I was super excited when I came back home to find this little beauty sitting on my table. I opened it up straight away, and have to say the packaging is beautiful, sadly that's the only good thing I can say about my glossy box!
When I signed up they ask if you would be happy to receive samples eg: perfume samples and sachets samples, I specifically ticked no, because let's face it, you can go to any beauty counter or perfume store and they give you sachet and perfume samples for free, so I'm pretty peeved that they sent me them,, specifically when i ticked no!!
I will be emailing the glossy box customer service to complain about this, we shall see what kind of response I get, as I've not heard the best things about there customer service.

Anyway, onto the products I received, not impressed with any of these really.
Please click the pictures to get them full size.
Wonderful Packaging

Hiding my address, lol.

All tissue papered up with a glossy box sticker and ribbon.

The contents of the box, i cant help but feel like I've been slightly cheated by getting a perfume sample and shampoo and conditioner samples :o(

Rahua shampoo and conditioner
HD Brows brow kit (this is all matte eye shadows, no brow wax or anything, this is probably the best thing in this box, but nothing special)
Omorovicza thermal cleansing balm
Nuxe Huile prodigieuse ( dry oil)
Plum perfume sample

Highly disappointing for my first ever glossy box.
