MUA Lipsticks - Review

On the blog today i give to you MUA Lipsticks!!

These have been out a long time now, but I've just recently gotten around to trying them.
I got these for my birthday recently, and i have to say I'm so pleased i did!!

I got 4 shades, 3 of which have a name (i think their the newer shades)
So from left to right i got:
*Shade 16 - Nectar
*Shade 13
*Shade 15 - Juicy
*Shade 14 - Bare

Ill start off by saying the packaging on these is nothing flash, pretty basic, but i actually like it, they remind me of the NYX round lipsticks.

Some swatches for you all
Top to Bottom
*Shade 16 - Nectar
*Shade 13
*Shade 15 - Juicy
*Shade 14 - Bare

These Lipsticks come with a bargain £1 price tag, so i wasn't really hoping for much, but I'm really surprised by these lipsticks, they apply so smooth and buttery, and have a really good colour pay off, the swatches above are just with one swipe of each lipstick!!

They seem to have a very light scent to them, i cant explain it, but it isn't offencive at all

As already mentioned above the packaging is very basic, but come on guys for £1 what more do you want??
I actually really like the packaging, and its a lot better than some other Drugstore Lipsticks that retail for even  more, (Natural Collection, anyone??)

They also come with a little colour on the bottom of each lipstick which is great when storing them as you can see which colour it is straight away, the bottoms also pop off to reveal extra lipstick in them. Ive seen reviews where some people have said that its actually wax in the bottom just for colour reference, but i can definitely clarify that mine have actual lipstick in them, i poked my nail right through it lol.

These Lipsticks definitely get a massive thumbs up from me, and i will definitely be purchasing more, or hoping to get some in my Xmas stocking :o)

Nails Inc Freebies!!!

I do love a good freebie now and again so when I discovered glamour magazine were giving away a free nails inc nail polish with this months issue I just had to rush out and grab it!!

There are 4 colours to collect from the glamour collection, sadly I only managed to get 3, I couldn't find the gold glitter one anywhere!!

The magazine is a bargain price of just £2!!, not bad considering Nails Inc polishes retail for over £11 each.

Looking all pretty in their boxes!!

A closer look.
The shades i managed to pick up are
*St James
*Elizabeth Street
*Motcomb Street

I LOVE them all, I'm a huge fan of Nails Inc Polishes anyway, and when there's a bargain like this going on they just have to be had!!

Ive done a quick swatch of each one below for you to take a closer look at.

*St James
A gorgeous red colour, perfect for the festive season which is rapidly approaching us!!

*Elizabeth Street
A gorgeous soft pale pink shade, the perfect natural colour and perfect to go with a french manicure.

*Motcomb Street
This probably looks black on the swatch here, but its actually a very very deep blue colour, ill probably end up jazzing this one up with a bit of glitter on top.

My local stores still have tons of Glamour mags for sale, so go check to see if you can still pick it up!!

My Newest Lipsticks

So Ive been on a bit of a Lippie splurge at the moment, and added 5 new lipsticks to my collection, 4 MAC (What can i say?, i have a weakness for MAC Lippies lol) and 1 Barry M.

As far as I'm aware the 4 MAC lipsticks i got are Limited Edition (I bought them from a blog sale)
They've been on my wish list for a while now, and I'm so glad i got them because i love them all!!

My little pretties (Sorry for the rubbish, washed out pic!!)

From Left to Right:

*MAC Viva Glam Gaga
*MAC Force Of Love (Chenman Collection)
*MAC Naturally Eccentric (Surf Baby Collection)
*MAC Viva Glam Nicki
*Barry M 52 (MAC Candy Yum Yum Dupe)

Here's a few swatches for you
Top to Bottom:

*MAC Viva Glam Gaga
*MAC Force of Love
*MAC Naturally Eccentric
*MAC Viva Glam Nicki
*Barry M 52

MAC Force of Love and Viva Glam Nicki seem to be quite close in colour to each other but Viva Glam Nicki is that tad bit brighter pink/peach toned, and whilst Force of Love is a Matte finish, Viva Glam Nicki is a Satin Finish.

I'm sure from the pics you can tell I'm a total pink/nude lippie girl, i try to step out of my comfort zone sometimes, but i always end up going back to the same shades.

I'm also in love with Barry M 52, it is so bright, this will be a night out colour for me, i cant see myself wearing this during the day even though i absolutely adore it, I'm just not brave enough!!

A few snaps from halloween

Hope you all had a fab Halloween.
We decided to have a party this year, and invited all our nearest and dearest to join us and get dressed up.

We had a blast and the kids enjoyed it too!!

I thought id post a pic of what me and my boyfriend and son dressed as, i had originally went with a corpse bride idea, then changed it to little dead riding hood (bought the outfit too) only to change it to a creepy doll at the last minute lol.

Overall we were all very happy with our outfit choices!!

My Outfit was pretty simple, i bought a simple dress from Ebay (bargain) and then did my own makeup.

My boyfriend dressed as beetle juice, we got the original wig and costume again from Ebay, and the painted his face.
He decided to cut open lots of glow sticks and throw them all over himself, and i have to say the effect was absolutely brilliant, he was glowing for hours lol!!!
Last but by no means least, my beautiful boy dressed as a vampire!!
I had tons of ideas for him, but he doesn't like anything too scary so we settled on a cute little vampire, and he looked fab!!

Close up of my Halloween makeup.

What did you all get dressed up as for Halloween?? Link me to your pics!!

Models Own 'Mirrorball Nail Frosting Collection'

I have Just seen Promo Pics for this collection Online, and just had to do this post!!

Seriously how gorgeous are these polishes!!!!!
Mirrorball polishes come in 5 different colours and are a mixture of glitters and shapes of all different sizes, creating amazing effects.

These are supposed to be a smooth glide on formula too, so hopefully they wont be all thick and bumpy like you get with alot of glitter polishes.

This collection screams expensive designer to me, i mean just look at the packaging, metallic coloured tops, i love!!!

Here's a few close ups for you to drool over
BOOGIE NIGHTS
DANCING QUEEN

DISCO INFERNO
FREAK OUT

HOT STUFF

I'm personally loving the look of Dancing queen, its the stand out polish of the collection for me.

Have any of you tried these polishes??

Gift mail!!!

Sorry I've not updated my blog in like forever lol, I've not been too well lately, but hopefully I'll be able to keep posting now and then!!

I just wanted to show you all some lovely gift mail I received back in may from a wonderful friend from the states!!

I was seriously blown away!!
She sent me 10 sinful colors polishes!!!
Ive never been able to get my hands on these in the UK before, but a few friends have been telling me that our very own 'poundworld' has started selling them, they only have limited colours, but its a start right!!

The top 5 colors are from the neon collection i believe, and seriously this picture doesn't do them justice, they are so much more brighter and vivid in real life!! The bottom 5 are just randoms but i seriously love them all, and I'm glad I've got a glitter in there, she knows how much i LOVE my glitters LOL!!!

Let me know what your fave sinful colors polishes are!!

Products Ive been loving in the month of March!!

Just a quick post to show you what products I've been loving this month!

*Soap&Glory Righteous Body Butter
This will probably always be one of my faves, i love this stuff, its tick, creamy, moisturising and smells delicious, need i say more?!

*NYX Eyeshadow Base in ESB01 White
Ive been using this for quite a while now, and love it,, its super creamy and applies so easy, its a bright white, so whatever colour eyeshadow you put over it, it will instantly make it pop! I haven't noticed any creasing with this base, and my shadows stay put all day, (I've even done the naughty thing of falling asleep with my makeup on, and the next morning my eyeshadow was still perfect!!) This product gets a huge thumbs up from me!!

*NYX Lip liner in Dolly Pink
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this lip liner, i got it in a swap after hearing so many great reviews about it.
Its a gorgeous baby pink colour, that applies super smooth and stays put.

*Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Pink Sugar
Again i think i received this lipstick in a swap, and its a gorgeous nude colour, with gold sparkles running through it, I'm a big fan of Revlon lipsticks anyway, and i wasn't disappointed with the colour of this one, i team this with the lip liner mentioned above, and it my perfect everyday lip combo.

*MAC Hue Lipstick
Ive heard so many great things about this lipstick, that i couldn't wait to try it, and let me tell you i wasn't disappointed! Its a lovely pink/nudey colour, in a glaze finish which i was a bit worried about because sometimes you don't get much colour payoff with them, but this one was surprising, its fast becoming one of my faves and is surprisingly moisturising on me.

*WetnWild Walking On Eggshells Trio
This has been my go to shadow colours for most of the past month, its super natural, and applies perfectly, i will never grow tired of WetnWild Shadows, they are hands down THE best drugstore Eye shadows for me, i just love them.

*Benefit Erase Paste
I got this as gratis when i was a Benefit Employee, and have loved it ever since, mine is in the shade medium, and i love it as an under eye concealer, its thick and creamy and it blends perfect on me.

*Milani Jewel FX in Gems Nail Polish
I have been on a huge nail polish kick lately, and got 3 of these polishes in a recent swap, its a gorgeous thick glitter polish and is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann 'Happy Birthday' it also reminds me of OPIs 'Rainbow Connection' from the 'Muppets Collection'. I seriously only need to apply 2 coats of this and my nails are covered, its really hard wearing and really lasts, bit of a pain to get off but its prettiness more than makes up for it, lol. I believe they also do a pink and turquoise in these, so I'm hoping to get my hands on those and then ill have the full collection.

*NYC Show Time Volumizing Mascara
I went out and bought this mascara on a whim, i was skint at the time and picked it up because it was cheap, i wasn't expecting anything major from this product, but i have to say i think its really great, it really lengthens my lashes, and if i apply a few coats seems to thicken them up a bit too. It wont replace my all time fave 'covergirl Lashblast' but for the price i really cant complain about this. If your looking for a cheapie, then id recommend giving this a try.

*ELF Eyelash Curler
This is the best eyelash curler I've owned, its about £1.50 and comes with a spare rubber guard, i literally use this everyday, and it works a treat.

*Revlon Colourstay Foundation
I really love this foundation, its long-wearing, and gives me a flawless finish, its not heavy or cakey, and has the added bonus of SPF 15 in it.
With it being so lightweight, i can apply a powder directly on top and don't feel like i have far too much makeup on, it still looks really natural.

*MAC Solar Riche Bronzer
I think i featured this in another Favourites post of mine a while ago, and I've started reaching for it again on a daily basis, the weather here in the UK has been great lately, so I've been giving myself a bit of colour by applying this, it does have sparkles in it, but when you apply it to the skin you really cant see them, which i like.

So that was my products for march, What was yours??

Beauty Bloggers Valentines Swap

I recently took part in a Beauty Bloggers Valentines Swap, organised by Kelly at Lipglossloveaffair, here's the link.

When i signed up for this swap, i chose to do a $20 value, so i would be paired up with someone else who wanted a $20 swap value, so it was fair for both of us.

This was a direct swap so we were paired with our partners, then she emailed us each others details, and we went from there.

My swapper was the lovely Annie all the way from Canada.
I love international swaps because it gives me a chance to try out things that are not available to me here in the UK.

I received my swap from her a few days ago, and i LOVE it!!
This is everything in the box, it was all wrapped up in tissue paper and packed with packing peanuts, but i just had to open it, lol.

Everything she sent me!!
How cute are those strawberry's, they have Hershey's kisses inside, they are too cute, my son loved them!!
The cute little jar of stars is lovely too, she said in her letter they are for love and luck, i could do with some luck right about now, after the awful few months I've had lately, see here
and here
She also sent me a cute Hello Kitty sticker, (i love anything Hello Kitty) and a bow hair tie.
Essie and sally Hansen nail polishes, and a Revlon lip butter.

A closer look.

The Essie polish is from their recent luxeffects range and is in the shade 'as gold as it gets', i cannot find Essie polishes anywhere near me so I'm so glad i got this.
Revlon lip butter in Berry Smoothie
Sally Hansen diamond strength nail polish in glass slipper, again these polishes are not available near me either.

This was a great swap, and I'm super happy with what i got, i would be happy to swap with Annie again in the future.

NOTD-Extensions

Another NOTD post, although this is slightly different to my others, as i have nail extensions on.
I got bored so decided to give my nails a makeover :o)
Hope you enjoy!!

These are Acrylic Nail extensions, i made the glitter mixes myself, and love them, my son says they remind him of Mermaids, so i decided to name my mix, 'mermaids tears'.

Thanks for stopping by :o)

Fantasy Fire FINALLY!!

Finally Managed to get my hands on the Hottest Nail Polish of the moment
Max Factor 'Fantasy Fire'
Its a UK exclusive polish, and is a dupe for Clarins 230 'unicorn pee'
I saw that everyone in the Beauty Community was going mad for this colour, so i naturally had to see what all the fuss was about, lol.
It truly is a unique, multi dimensional colour and i don't have anything like it.
If you get the chance to try out this colour i would say go for it, i truly think you will Love it!!

March glitter swap

So I've been watching alot of videos on Youtube lately, mainly about Nails, (i am a qualified Beauty Therapist and Nail Tech) but no longer do it as a living, but lately I've really been missing doing nails, so I've decided I'm gonna get back into it.

So while i was browsing Youtube, i came across a video which is a glitter mix swap, basically you make a glitter mix that can be added to your Acrylic powder.

I have a HUGE glitter acrylic collection from EZ Flow, but thought it would be great to try other peoples mixes, so i signed up for the March Swap, it was an Easter/spring theme.

You have to send 5 mixes in, they can all be the same or different, you also have to add a little bag of nail art items with each of your mixes, send them all in, and you get 5 different mixes sent back to you.

Here's a couple of pics of the mixes i made for this swap, i chose to name mine 'Easter Explosion' but you don't have to give your mixes a name, its entirely up to you.

These are my 5 mixes all bagged up and labelled with the name of the mix and my user name, so people will know who they came from.

This is another little bag attached to the back of my mixes with the nail art items in, i included tiny bullion beads, and fimo flowers.

You simply make 5 glitter mixes, use at least 3 different glitters and package 1tsp in a plastic baggie, attach a small bag of nail art items to your mix and your done!

I also put my mixes into a slightly bigger plastic baggie, just in case any glitter comes out, so it can be saved.

Here is the link of the glitter swaps, you can read all the rules and find out exactly how it works.

My Homemade Sushi

I've always loved sushi, but it gets pretty expensive to buy all the time, so after watching a few YouTube videos on how to make your own, I decided to give it a go.

I bought all my ingredients from Sainsburys.

These are the basics which you will need:
*Rice vinegar
*Sushi rice (apparently you can use plain short grain rice too)
*Sushi rolling mat
*Sushi nori (seaweed sheets)

You can have any filling you want in your sushi, I decided to just stick with basic ones for my first go, so here's the ingredients I used.

*Tuna and mayonnaise
*imitation crab meat with mayonnaise
*cucumber and avocado

All rolled up!

Finally all sliced and looking lovely!!

They were absolutely delicious, and everyone loved them, even my mam who has never really been a fan of sushi.

Here's the video i watched on how to make these:
This is a great channel all about Japanese cooking.

Sleek pout paints

I recently picked up theses Sleek Pout Paints and thought id do a quick review on them.
Ive already had a little play around with these and made some custom mixes.

I picked up these 3 colours in:
* Pin Up
* Cloud 9
* Peachy Keen

Here's the 3 mixes i made, you can make tons more shades.

and finally swatches of the 3 i bought, along with swatches of my custom mixes.

These retail at £5 each, and are the UKs version of the USs OCC Lip Tars which retail at $13.50 each.
Now i do own some OCC Lip Tars, and they are very comparable, in fact i think i actually prefer them over the OCC ones.

PROS
*They are the same size as OCC and alot cheaper.
*They are thicker in consistency which is great when doing your mixes in little jars because they don't leak out around the lid.
*They have a nice selection of colours, not as many as OCC but you can literally make tons of colours from just a few tubes.
*Easily accessible, they are in most branches of superdrug and online.
*They have a nice smell.

CONS
I really don't have anything bad to say about these, i think they are absolutely fantastic, and i love them, i will defo be buying more of these!
