Off on my Jollies!!

I wont be posting for a few days as I'm going on my jollie hollies!!

Me, my bf, and our son are heading off to Disneyland Paris, my mam and sister are tagging along with us too.

My son is beyond excited!! so is my bf too!!

We are getting the Ferry from Dover into Calais and then driving to Disneyland from there, its a long journey, but i love little road trips.
We will be staying overnight in the Davy Crockett Ranch, which seems to have lots of activities for children, so hopefully it will be nice when we get there.

We also get a full free day in Paris to do as we please, so we are going to try and do a little sightseeing (unless we get lost, lol)

Me and my bf have both been to Disneyland in Florida, and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
Ive heard that the Paris one isn't that good and I've been told that the prices are extortionate, but i shall judge for myself when I'm there, hopefully we will have a blast.

Ill be sure to post some pics when I'm back.

Collective Swap Haul

So i thought id do a quick post to show you all my recent swaps.
These are from the past few months, so thought id just do one big collective haul.

If you read my blog, I'm sure your already aware that I'm a member of makeupalley.com and this is where i do all my swaps. It is THE best beauty swapping site i have ever come across, and i highly recommend that you check it out.

So....onto the goodies!!! :o)

This is everything I've received in my swaps the last few months.

Swap 1.
5 wet n wild palettes, i got 2 of the 8-pan palettes and 3 of the trios.
From top to bottom, left to right:
*Blue had me at hello
*Petal Pusher
*I got good jeans
*Walking on eggshells
*I'm getting sunburned

Swap 2.
*Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette
*Wet n Wild Dont steal my thunder Trio
*Wet n Wild single eyeshadow in Nutty
*2 NYX Lipglosses in French kiss and Sugar pie
*NYX Lipliner in Dolly Pink
*2 NYX Jumbo eye pencils in purple velvet and milk
*2 NYX Soft matte lip creme in Tokyo and Addis Ababa
*Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Pink Sugar
*Wet n Wild Fast dry Nail Colour in Party of Five Glitters

Tried to take a pic of the revlon lippie but i couldnt capture it properly, its a gorgeous peachy nude colour with gold sparkles in it.

Swap 3.
*3 Revlon Super lustrous Lipsticks
*Revlon Lip butter
*Covergirl Lipstick

From left to right:
*Pink Velvet
*Gentlemen prefer pink
*Cherries in the snow
*Creamsicle lip butter
*Covergirl Verve
The lipsticks are darker in real life, cherries in the snow is showing up pink on the pic, but its a straight up red.
The lip butter is a nude/orangey colour in real life. Also with the lip butter, im shocked to see how little product you get in, its wound all the way up in the pic, and ive only used it maybe 3 times, i dont know if there all like this or if i just got a faulty one, but $9rrp for that amount of product seems a little steep to me.

Swap 4.
More Wet n Wild Palettes.....YAY!!!
Top to bottom, left to right:
*Greed palette
*Pride palette
*Fly me to the moon
*Were blasting off
*Dancing in the clouds
The bottom three are from the limited edition Dream weavers collection, and i absolutely love them!

Swap 5.
Another big Lip lot, im obsessed with lipsticks and glosses at the minute even though i know i have far too many already.
Left to right:
*Revlon super lustrous in Peach Petal
*MAC Strange potion (from the venemous villains collection)
*MAC 2N
*NARS Turkish Delight
*MAC Florabundance
*Stila long wear liquid lipcolour in Coral
*MAC Glamour for all
*Lancome colour design in B-list
*NARS lipliner in Fantasia

I forgot to include a Hard Candy Lipstick in Fire Alarm and the NYX Eyeshadow base in ESB01 White, i recieved them with swap number 5.

I have absolutely LOVED my swaps from over the past few months, and have got some great products that arnt available to me here in the UK, especially Wet n Wild and NYX, which are two of my fave US drugstore brands.

If you havnt already, go check out makeupalley.com and get swapping!!!

Magnetic Nail polish

I'm sure most of you have heard of the Magnetic Nail trend by now, but just thought id do a quick post with the ones i got for Christmas.

I received the Nails Inc Magnetic Polishes from my boyfriend at Christmas, I've always been a fan of this brand and have quite a few of their polishes, so i was intrigued when i saw a demo of them.

I received three colours in:

Trafalgar Square
Big Ben
Houses of Parliament
and the Kensington Caviar Top Coat.

How does magnetic polish work?
This unique formula has been specially developed with metallic particles to create a pattern on the nail using magnetic forces. As the magnet (in the lid of the bottle) is held over the nail, the iron powder in the formulation gravitates toward it forming the pattern hidden in the magnet for an astonishing finish.

The magnet in this set comes on top of the Trafalgar Square polish, and just pulls off.
You just paint your nails with your desired colour and them immediately hold the magnet over the top, just below the cuticle for a few seconds and then the pattern takes effect.

I love the concept of these, and think they work well especially Trafalgar Square (my fave) and houses of parliament, Big Ben is OK, but just doesn't seem to have the same effect as the other two, its a little disappointing if I'm honest.
Left to Right:
Trafalgar Square
Big Ben
Houses of Parliament.

I settled on Trafalgar Square for my NOTD, i love how the pattern turned out, its so clear.
Overall I'm really happy with these polishes with the exception of Big Ben.

I would love to see a bright pink magnetic polish!!

Sunday 15 January 2012

Just a quick post to explain why i haven't posted in a little while.

As some of you who have read my blog may already be aware, my family and i suffered a HUGE blow at the end of last year.
I gave birth to a beautiful sleeping angel born on 13/11/11.

We were all in a huge state of dis-belief and shock, but had to be strong as i have a little boy of 4 years and needed to be there for him.

Although we will never ever get over what happened to our gorgeous baby boy, and still feel the pain each and everyday, we were looking forward to the new year, we thought new year, new beginnings, and hopefully get ourselves and the rest of the family back on track.

Fast forward to 2012 and that hope was shattered!
I received a phone call at 2.40am on the morning of 9/1/12 from my mam, with the devastating news that my Nana had passed away.

I was heart broken and distraught, and thought this could not be happening.
My Nana was 80 years old and in a care home, i immediately went to see her as soon as i got the phone call.
All of the family were there, and it was so hard and heartbreaking to watch them all go through even more pain and grief after my sons funeral in November.

I crumbled and broke down, i couldn't handle it, the last time i saw my Nana was Christmas day and now she has gone, i torture myself everyday for not going to see her after Xmas, but i had a cold and was advised not to go in case i passed something onto her.

We were told she passed away in her sleep and didn't suffer any pain, i went in her room to see her, and she looked so small, but peaceful, she had had enough, it was her time to go.

I have now found some peace knowing that my wonderful Nana will be up in heaven taking care of my precious baby boy.

RIP NANA - You will forever be in my heart.

Liberty of London Hello Kitty Lipbalms

Thought id just do a quick post to let you see these gorgeous lip balms i picked up yesterday.

There Hello Kitty Lip Balm tins designed by none other than Liberty of London.
How gorgeous is the packaging, sleek purple with gold accents, and cut out holes so you can see the design on the tins, just beautiful!

Perfect for Hello Kitty Fans of all ages!

This is the colours of the lip balms, they all smell beautiful, very fruity/berry type scent.
I love all the colours, but my fave is definitely the one in the middle.

These were originally £6 from boots, which is a total bargain, but i actually got them for £3 as they were having a half price sale on, so i did even better.

I also bought an extra set to send to a special friend of mine in Japan, she is a huge Hello Kitty fan and i think she will love the Liberty of London design on these.
